Sedona, AZ

So it's been a little while since my last post and while I don't have one good reason to explain my absence, I have a lot of little reasons.  Like I've been studying for this really hard test I have to take in December and well two, my husband and I took a mini road trip to Sedona, AZ recently!

If you haven't been to Sedona, I highly recommend the trip.  The scenery is stark and breathtaking.  Green pines and desert shrubbery contrast startlingly with red rocks, vistas, and earth as far as the eye can see.  Plus the whole area has a unique and spiritual vibe to it.

Also, if you visit the L'Auberge de Sedona for breakfast, you can eat this while sitting amongst shady trees next to a bubbly creek.

Bubbly Pinot Grigio

As the title of this blog may suggest, I like things that add a bit of bubbly to meals, drinks, appetizers, etc, etc.  So when I saw this delicious looking little bottle named Contadino Pinot Grigio while on my weekly wine hunt through the isles of Trader Joe's I knew it was quickly coming home with me.

I love a good Italian Pinot Grigio.  Light, refreshing, and most importantly in my book easy to drink, Pinot Grigio is my go to white wine for accessories to any classic and fresh Italian meal.  While I'll admit I was at first a little worried this "sparkling" bottle would either be overwhelming bubbly or bitter, one taste and my husband and I were sold.  So sold in fact, that the bottle was definitely finished by the end of the night (and it was a "school" night!).

I highly encourage trying any non-traditional sparkling wine you find at your local grocery store.  Sparkling wine, like this one, tends to be crisper and littler more refreshing than champagne which can sometimes overwhelm the palate.
